  Angelika's really is a German bakery and is filled with some of the most famous German baked goods: an exciting assortment of strudels, cookies, Black Forest cake along with some more local favourites like Nanaimo bars, cinnamon buns, muffins and danishes. Considering how humble the establishment is, I was a little surprised at finding it quite pricey. Some items were downright jaw-droppers.

  I called this lady to talk about getting some sweets for an upcoming event. She asked me to come out to her location in Hunter River at 9:00 am the following morning before she opened for business and got too busy. When we arrived she wouldn't answer the door. Finally she yelled through the window that she wasn't open yet. When I reminded her that I had an appointment, she finally came to the window and very rudely told me to look on her website and that she had nothing suitable for me. I was looking for some individual pastries and a large cake. I can't imagine she had nothing suitable. She was extremely rude, even taking cultural and linguistic differences into consideration. I was on my holiday and at the same time trying to plan a large upcoming family event. I had better things to do than get up early, drive to Hunter River, and have this lady scold me (for keeping my appointment).
